FLURRY AND SHELTON NAMED NEMCC’S FEBRUARY ATHLETES OF THE MONTH

Booneville, MS – A pair of home run hitters are being recognized for their contributions over the past month with Collin Flurry and Adin Shelton earning February Player of the Month honors presented by Booneville's Guaranty Bank. 

Flurry has started his collegiate career on fire with a pair of grand slams in February as part of 6 home runs recorded so far this year. He also has 42 RBI to place in the top five of the MACCC with 12 doubles and three triples while averaging .352 at the plate. Flurry kicked off the month with his first grand slam coming against East Central (MO) for one of his two homers in the game to record 8 RBI and earn MACCC Player of the Week opening week of the 2026 season. 

Shelton on the season is hitting .407 at the plate while leading the MACCC in RBI with 41 to go with 10 home runs that ties her for third in the conference. She made history for the Tigers with 4 homers for a single-game record to go with eight RBI and a perfect batting average at the plate against Pellissippi State to earn her MACCC Player of the Week honors. Shelton has helped to lead Northeast into the national rankings at #19 in the latest NJCAA polls with an overall record of 23-5 with a 21-1 record in February.

Both Northeast teams will be back in action on Saturday with baseball hosting #1 East Central with the doubleheader beginning at 2:00 PM while softball heads to the Warriors for a 2:00 PM first pitch in Decatur.
