Booneville, MS – Following a strong performance at the plate this past week for the Tigers with a trio of long bombs, sophomore Hank Eaton earned MACCC Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.
On the week Eaton recorded a batting average of .429 with an on-base percentage of .529 while hammering out 3 homers and adding on 6 runs scored, 10 RBIs, and 3 stolen bases. Eaton helped lead Northeast to a series sweep over Mississippi Delta with a 20-0 win in game one, recording three hits, three runs, a home run, and three RBI in the shutout. An 8-1 win in game two completed the sweep over Delta with Eaton connecting on another dinger, a double, and drove in four more runs. Despite falling short to Hinds, Eaton played a crucial part in extending game two with a 3-run homer to send the contest into extra innings.
In the 2026 season, Eaton is hitting .391 at the plate with an on-base percentage of .534 through 39 games. He has recorded 43 hits, 37 runs, 13 doubles, 1 triple, 7 homers, 48 RBI, and 6 stolen bases. A dual threat for the Tigers, on the mound he has started in nine games where he has struck out a total of 21 batters through 33.2 innings pitched.
Northeast baseball sits at 20-19 overall on the 2026 campaign with an even record in conference action at 7-7. They will be back in action on Wednesday in a road doubleheader against #20 Northwest with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 PM.
