An RBI single from Brett Haas drove in Hank Eaton who later hammered out an RBI single of his own to stretch the lead out to 3-1 in the top of the sixth. The Rangers answered back to make it a 3-2 Tigers lead before Northeast scored seven runs in the top of the eighth led by a two-run homer from McKnatt and a solo dinger from Eaton to capitalize on a 10-2 win in game one.
