Freshman: Cheered the Northeast men’s basketball team to one of their best seasons of the decade with appearances at the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) State Tournament and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Tournament…Helped to build an oppressive atmosphere for the Tigers’ opponents inside historic Bonner Arnold Coliseum…On the sidelines for six of Northeast’s nine football contests and a majority of women’s basketball matchups as well.

 

High School: Cheered for coach Kama Alford at Tupelo…On the sidelines for Tupelo’s football program during its run to the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 6A state championship game at historic Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium as a senior…Also displayed her spirit during the Golden Wave’s marquee victory over powerhouse South Panola in the semifinal round…Saw the Tupelo boys basketball team qualify for the MHSAA Class 6A state title matchup at historic Mississippi Coliseum during her sophomore year.

 

Personal: Daughter of Yolanda Wax…Full name is Yasmin Leigh Young…Majoring in nursing…Inducted into the Iota Zeta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa organization on the Booneville campus…Named a Dean’s List scholar as a freshman at Northeast.
