BOONEVILLE, Miss. - The fall golf schedule at Northeast Mississippi Community College is growing with the beginning of the women's program.

The Lady Tigers make their official debut from September 15-16 at nearby Kirkwood National Golf Club in Holly Springs. It is the first of five events for Northeast during the opening semester of the 2025-26 academic year.

"Being close to home is good that way we can have people come watch," said Lady Tigers head coach Leigh Treloar. "From what I understand, it's a pretty difficult course. I want to have success in the beginning, but I also know it's a process. We've got to be patient with ourselves."

Northeast ventures into the neighboring state of Alabama for its next three competitions, including invitationals hosted by Jefferson State Community College and Snead State Community College in the month of October.

The Lady Tigers also visit Oxford, Ala., for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) South District Preview on the last two days of September. Northeast will go back there in the spring to participate in its inaugural postseason tournament.

Northeast completes its autumn slate with a unique opportunity. The Lady Tigers will join the other three teams from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) for a match play event from November 3-4 at Canton's Deerfield Golf Club.

"Match play is very different. It's going to be a lot of fun," Treloar said. "I'm very thankful for the programs that have extended out their tournaments to let us get that experience. We're getting really excited. We're ready to get started."

The men's team also christens its new season at Kirkwood National, but from August 25-26. It is the earliest start date for the Tigers since the program was reinstated from a temporary hiatus some six years ago.

"That first tournament could be tricky because you just hope you take your five best to it," said Northeast headman Derek DeVaughn. "The courses we're playing, I'm looking forward to that."

The Tigers welcome their peers back to Shiloh Ridge Athletic Club for the second time this calendar year from September 22-23. Northeast hosted the 2025 MACCC championship in Corinth last April.

Northeast is boosting its strength of schedule with a pair of non-conference tournaments in October. The Tigers make their first appearance in south Mississippi on the 27th and 28th at the Charles Cooper Classic in Gulfport.

The Tigers also return to Delta State University's Derrall Foreman Invitational for the first time since 2021. Last year's field featured predominantly NCAA Division II institutions, including champion Henderson State (Ark.) University.

Northeast's final competition before pausing for winter weather is from November 10-11 at Laurel Country Club. The spring semester portion of Northeast's regular season schedules will be unveiled in the future.
