Booneville, MS – After helping Northeast Softball climb up the NJCAA rankings as the 14th ranked team in the country, Adin Shelton was announced as the MACCC Player of the Week on Tuesday following her record setting performance.
Shelton had one of the top single game performances in program history with four home run bombs in game one against Pellissippi State with a three-run homer, two 2-run homers, and a solo to add eight RBIs to her stat sheet as well. She led the Tigers to a 7-1 week overall while hitting .370 and recording 12 total RBIs, two doubles, four home runs, and four stolen bases.
On the season, Shelton is averaging .431 at the plate with five doubles, and three triples with her eight home runs and 29 RBIs both rank first in the MACCC. This award marks the first time a Tiger has been named MACCC Player of the Week in the 2026 season.
Northeast will be back at home this weekend with doubleheaders against Arkansas State Mid-South on Friday and Wabash Valley on Saturday with both start times scheduled for 12:00 PM.
