KENDALL BRAGG SCORES NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Booneville, MS – After being announced yesterday as MACCC Player of the Week by the conference, freshman outfielder Kendall Bragg scored National Player of the Week honors as announced by the NJCAA on April 1st.
Bragg was a power hitter for the Tigers over the past week with a batting average of .571 through six games with five of her eight hits resulting in home runs for Northeast to drive her RBI numbers up to 15 on the week. She hit a home run in four straight games dating back to the week prior, hitting a home run in each game against Holmes and two against Coahoma in game one with at least three RBI in each game as well. Her fifth home run of the week came in game one against #3 Copiah Lincoln where she hammered out a dinger with bases loaded for a grand slam to take an early lead over the Wolves.
Bragg on the season has appeared in all 38 games for the Tigers with a batting average of .490 with a .500 on base percentage to go with 50 hits, 14 doubles, 2 triples, 8 home runs, 39 RBI, and 13 stolen bases. A dual threat for Northeast, Bragg has also made seven appearances in the circle with a 3-1 record in four starts where in 16.2 innings pitched, she has struck out 11 batters.
The Tigers currently sit at 30-8 overall on the 2026 season for the programs fourth straight 30+ win season while also sitting even in MACCC action at 7-7. Northeast will compete in a Top 25 matchup later this week with a doubleheader this Friday against #17 Hinds with first pitch scheduled for 2:00 PM.
