Booneville, MS – After pitching a no-hitter against Mississippi Delta and helping Northeast to a win over #17 Hinds, freshman pitcher Emma Abrams was named MACCC Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference on Tuesday. 

Abrams appeared in the circle twice with one start while striking out 13 batters through 10.0 innings pitched, allowing only two hits on the week. Against Mississippi Delta, she came out of the bullpen to throw five straight no-hit innings while striking out seven batters to earn a win in relief to complete the doubleheader sweep over the Trojans. She followed that up with a start against #17 Hinds where she struck out another six batters through five innings in a 13-1 run rule win for Abrams in a Top 25 matchup in the NJCAA. 

In 25 appearances on the 2026 season, Abrams has recorded 15 starts and 13 wins along with one save, pitching in 108.1 innings while striking out 100 batters. 

Northeast is 31-9 overall on the 2026 campaign while going 8-8 in MACCC through March. Softball will be back in action on Saturday when they make the four-hour trip south to Mississippi Gulf Coast for a MACCC doubleheader.
